burning questions
Danielle LaPorte is posing a new burning question on her blog each week. Since I adore Danielle, and know that any question she asks is sure to be a great one, I'm joining in. The inaugural question is this:
"Feelings are magnetic. So it goes that if you generate certain feelings — and you have the power to create any feeling you desire — then you increase the power of your emotional magnetism. But we need to limber up, loosen the images and adjectives encrusted on our goals and most-desired states. It helps to get poetic, lyrical, and abstract. Go there with me.
Your day, kissing, next success, friendships, nervous system, money-making…how do you want it all to feel?"
Here's my take on it. Enjoy. And get to know Danielle, if you don't already!
I want....
My day to feel like a footprint in beach sand.
My success to feel like a balancing pose, rooted and stretching.
My body to feel like a tree.
My friendships to feel like a hands-to-heart namaste bow.
My nervous system to feel like a clear stream through autumn woods.
My art to feel like a ritual dance culled from the collective unconscious.
My money-making to feel like dowsing. I intuitively tap in without anyone else's permission or help.
My writing to feel like a muscle stretched almost to its breaking point.
My love for my husband to feel like two children playing in a field.
My love for my children to feel like the endless strings that hold the universe together.
My yoga to feel like a deep and endless well.
The years of my life to feel like gifts received in cupped hands.

P.S. How do you want your life to feel?

I love this! You evoked a lot of feeling. I really enjoy wanting your body to feel like a tree, I love that image. I think I want my life to feel like an ocean, ever changing - but stable, routine, and calming.

This reads like poetry! I love Jenn's comment on wanting her life to feel like an ocean. Also I couldn't help thinking when you describe feelings generating certain feelings, how memories work this way too. Aren't we lucky to be able to generate both?
