Year of Joys Project

So, a few days ago I promised to let you all know how you could partake in the Year of Joys project.

My Year of Joys is a year-long (a leap-year-long!) photo project I've created for 2012.

I'm documenting one small, sweet, everyday joy per day. Don't be surprised to see lots of tea, toddlers, and cloud-gazing, because it's a simple life we lead over in Western MA. It really is.

So far I'm intrigued by the project. It encourages me to be on the constant alert for those tiny moments, even when I'm in the thick of a difficult day.

It also brings up my love/hate relationship with the modern tension between living life and documenting the life I live. All sorts of interesing things about being in the present moment.

But I digress. I want you to join in this project, too!

I'm opening up the group for EVERYONE to share their own little joyful snippets from daily life and observation. For a day, a month, the year, or totally at random. There's no need to commit for a year, or at all. Just jump in!

via flickr: I just started a Year of Joys flickr group where you can share and post your photos. 

via instagram: I love instagram and will be posting a lot of the project's photos there (using the hashtag #yearofjoys).

via twitter: again, using the hashtag #yearofjoys (wow, I made a hashtag for something!)

I'd love for you to follow, join, and share whenever you feel inspired to do so. I will occasionally round up my favorite photos of yours and posting them here--with links back, of course!

Great idea, Maeg! And so much can be said with photos--especially networked photos; I think this is a perfect medium for maximum life-appreciating impact! I'll participate, for sure.

Awesome! I'm excited to see other's photos, great idea to share those too! Wish I had a better camera on my non-smart (stupid) phone :( It would just make it m ore convenient. I want to contribute though!
