This week I want to share with you the work of Lee Price. I first saw her work a long time ago, on an Iphone being passed around amongst coworkers. Even with that short (and small) introduction, the name and the images stuck with me. You'll see why.

Hello! After a long, long period of longing...I recently entered the amazing world of the Iphone...and Instagram! Here's a few snippets of my life via one of my favorite apps. It seems I may have a minor obsession with my toddler...and my own feet.
I love documenting happy little moments this way...I've got a few Instagram oriented projects simmering on my back brain-burner now.
I'm also loving Siri, the talking computer within the phone...now I can do everything by voice, which means you're likely to find me strutting about my house, pompously dictating emails. Mmmwahaha!

Mondays are long, busy, full days. Sixteen straight hours of go.
So my small act of random abundance for the day was to take a minute to put my feet up.
Just a minute in this 60 degree late November weather was just perfect.
And after that minute, I made a phone call that scared me very, very much. Regardless of the outcome of that call, it is a gift to myself. A whole other act of abundance--riding through fear.

Today: Forgoing my usual routine and going outside to watch the sunrise instead. It was a gray one, subtle. There was still a lot to notice, if I wanted to--the thin coat of frost, the birds and their various calls.

I'm sure even more small acts of abundance await today, but here are two so far, by 6 am:
1. Dozing and daydreaming an extra hour (scandalous!) with my son snuggled next to me in bed.
2. Deleting every last game app from my brand new phone. I feel better already...giving myself the gift of less distraction and temptation.
What little moments of pampering and abundance are you giving yourself today?
They don't have to be fancy--quite the opposite, in fact. They are small everyday things that make life just that much bigger.

Today's moment of abundance: A little bit of sanctuary in the midst of a busy day. Normally as soon as I set my son down for his nap I get right down to work. Today, I tidied my bedroom into a peaceful getaway. I cooked myself a delicious, healthy lunch. I read some Oprah magazine. I watched the sun shine through the windows. I reveled in the thought of having enough time to be good to myself. Even though there are no extra hours today.

Happy Thanksgiving!
It's a day of feasting and abundance.
I think every day should be a day of abundance. Okay, maybe not every day. But I think it's vital to our lives and our creative work to bring some of that big holiday abundance to our everyday life. I call it "committing small acts of random abundance."
